WTF is Kinstretch and Why Should You Care?

Unless you are a fitness or health care professional, it’s likely you’ve never heard of Kinstretch.

Well, that is about to change. This article will provide you with a better understanding of what Kinstretch is, and will offer you a no-cost way to experience it firsthand.

So, WTF is Kinstretch? Kinstretch classes are mobility classes designed to help improve joint health and your body’s active control over movement.

These two key distinguishing factors separate Kinstretch from other mobility systems such as Yoga and Pilates.

Think about what it feels like to stretch. You feel a pulling sensation, hold the stretch for 10-30 seconds, relax, and move on with your day. In general, you probably feel slightly better afterward, but often find your tightness and stiffness return 30-minutes later.

If you’ve adopted this strategy, take a moment to reflect. Are you more mobile today as opposed to a few months ago? What about less stiff or tight?

A great quote that I find myself always coming back to is “nobody ever got flexible by stretching for 30 seconds.

There are two reasons for this.

The first is you only perform passive stretching and never work on the ACTIVE component of mobility training. The second, is you haven’t stuck with a plan long enough to see results.

Passive stretching does have its place, don’t get me wrong. I use passive stretching during my Kinstretch classes quite often, but it is ONE piece of the mobility puzzle.

Think of passive mobility as your potential for movement. This means you can get into a position with the help of external assistance (i.e., momentum or gravity) but you can’t necessarily control or physically move into that same position without it.

This is one reason why people feel tight and stiff so often, even in the presence of good flexibility. When your body doesn’t have control over its movement, tightness and sometimes pain become the symptoms.

This is where Kinstretch comes in and why you should consider trying my classes. I am now offering a free 2-week trial to my online Kinstretch membership, so this is the perfect time to give it a try!

In addition to passive stretching, Kinstretch adds active mobility options such as isometrics, eccentrics, and full movement patterns to help people garner better control over their movement.

When you combine these qualities, you can improve how you move, feel, and perform. In the words of one of our Kinstretch members, Fernando Ciccarelli, AKA Nando Savage, “Kinstretch is a great way to wake the body up to see what feels good and what needs work. It’s a must for healthy joint/body movement.

When it comes to improving how your body functions, there is no better alternative than taking Kinstretch mobility classes. 💪. The best part is, it is a great compliment to your current training program.
