How To Perform Neck CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations)

If you really think about it, you could probably come up with a few body positions that you never move through on a daily basis even if you work out regularly.

When was the last time you looked up to the ceiling as far as you could? Not many people often explore or move through end range neck extension.

Why should you care about this?

Because we know that not moving through ranges of motion is one of the reasons you lose mobility as you age. So if you’re in your late 20’s or beyond and are starting to feel stiff and notice less mobility than when you were younger, touching base with your end ranges through daily movement can help combat that.

Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs) are an easy, quick, way to do this.  Perform neck CARs 1-2 sets of 2-5 reps in each direction every day. Your body will thank you later.
